You were not waiting for it
But part 2 is HERE!
Nowhere to run...
LET'S TALK
What's wrong with Malta 2
Probably my favorite one from this list
Fireworks
Now, you might think, what's wrong with them?
EVERYTHING!
What's the point of making them in the morning, afternoon and evening?
There is a belief - if you make the fireworks during the day
The sound will scare evil spirits
But they do it SO loud and SO often, that I will be the one scared to DEATH
I woke up one Sunday morning hearing all this and thinking
that there is a war and evacuation has started
You can hear this EVERY Sunday, btw
The only point to make them is because of this sound, as you DON'T see them during the day
Funny part - You see none of fireworks at the New Year's eve...
Food
You leave on the island, it must be full of cheap sea food and fish
You have palm trees full of coconuts and bananas
I don't know how is this possible, but sea food is still expensive
Vegetables and fruits, imported from other countries, are even more pricey
Now is the season of peaches, which in Latvia you can get for 0,89 Eur per kg (with discount)
They cost 3 Eur per kg in Malta (3x more!)
Must add, this is not even price form the shop, where it would cost EVEN MORE
Some more examples
And these are just MARINATED sausages. Yummy...
You don't find fresh meat often there. Instead, you get frozen food everywhere...
Service
Let's imagine you need to get some documents done
Welcome to Malta!
Now I know there are people who don;t know what a queue is
Everyone goes in front of you, just to ask one question. Instead it takes one hour
Then opening hours are over and you come tomorrow to face it all AGAIN
And the regular service in the bars and restaurant doesn't exist
Haven't seen worse service any other country...
Not blaming the locals here. Usually people from other countries work as waiters
Here's my message to ALL these visitors...
Behave!
Refugees
Raising this topic to show the attitude of locals
This topic is stressful for everyone in Europe right now... But in Malta you see lot's of acts of Racism
I was in the bus once and two Africans entered the bus.
Tow local teenagers started to yell the "N" word. The "You know who"
The other word
That wasn't it. They started to throw gums and papers to them. No one in the bus said a word...
The the Russian super hero stood up for Black rights and said to the boys to behave!
And they told me I'm not a local too, so I can leave the country...
That wasn't the ONLY time I saw act of racism
To get in the bus you must wave to the driver while standing on the bus stop
Many times the bus wasn't even full but the bus drivers didn't stop if these were Black people on the bus stop
Pretending of "not noticing them"
Some more things from the list
Very expensive Internet. With a very bad connection
Variety of drugs
Lack of roads for the bicycles. You CAN'T drive next tot he cars. Too risky
Reminding you this is very subjective opinion of mine
Not trying to convince anyone. Just sharing my experience and thoughts I gained while living there
There's a video coming about Malta's BEST things (there are a lot of them)
And if you liked this video, please subscribe for more. Thanks!
