Waching daily Sep 26 2018

This Pro Comp ES9000 series front shock is for those of you that have a 2007 to 2018

JK with 0 to 2 inches of lift on it that are looking for an affordable shock.

This is going to be a style of shock that you're going to see from a few different manufacture.

This is a twin tube nitrogen charged shock.

And it is going to be a nice affordable option if you're looking to replace your existing

shocks.

This is gonna be a nice easy one out of three wrench installation.

The only difficult part about installing a new shock is if you have some rust on your

old shocks, breaking that hardware loose.

But we'll talk more about the installation for this in just a second.

This is going to be a twin tube shock, which means there is sort of an inner reservoir

and then an outer reservoir.

And the other reservoir is where the fluid is able to go as the piston travels in.

This is a nitrogen charged shock, and the nitrogen charge inside the shock is there

to eliminate any foaming and cavitation that can happen within the shock fluid, the shock

oil, as you work the shock very hard, in say a high-speed off-road situation where you're

hitting a lot of washboards.

So with the nitrogen charge here you're gonna get a little bit less shock fade than you

would if this were a hydraulic shock.

And you can always tell a nitrogen charged shock when it comes out of the box because

it has this banding on it, if the banding wasn't there the nitrogen charge would force

the shock to its full expanded length.

Now, any sort of twin tube shock is going to have a slightly smaller piston size than,

say, a monotube shock.

So the maximum amount of damping that you can get out of the shock is going to be a

little bit limited just because it has a little bit of a smaller piston.

If you're looking for something that can do a little bit more for you, maybe you wanna

take a look at a monotube shock that will have a larger piston, or you can take a look

at a monotube that has a reservoir if you're looking for even longer travel or even additional

valving options or adjustability.

This is going to be something that is set valving, designed to be a pretty comfortable

ride for a certain weight range, which is why they pair this to the JK.

Again, this is going to have the length that is pretty well set up for a Jeep that has

0 to 2 inches of lift on it.

But if you do want to do a little bit more customization as far as the length of your

shock, you can take some measurements off of your particular Jeep with whatever lift

it may have on it and size your shocks that way.

This shock will run you $45.

I think that's a fair price for what you're getting here.

It's going to be a good OE style replacement shock that's going to do what it's designed

to do.

Now, I'll have a member of the install team will show you how you get this installed.

Now, for ease of access you're gonna wanna remove your tire.

If you're doing this at home, it is not a necessary step if you do have a jack and jack

stand.

Now that we have our tire off we're gonna go ahead and remove our shock.

As you can see our shock is aftermarket, but they do have issues, they do blow out, they

do break, so we're gonna be replacing ours.

The first thing you're gonna wanna do is remove the bottom of the shock from the bracket using

an 18-millimeter wrench and an 18-millimeter socket.

Now before your tap out your bolt using a hammer, you're gonna wanna support your axle

with either a jack stand or in our case a pole jack.

Now that we have our bottom nut and bolt off, we're gonna move up to the top.

Now to do that you are gonna have to support the top of your shock with a pair of pliers

or potentially an Allen key depending on what kind of style shock you have and use your

wrench to take it off.

Now once your shock drops away from the shock tower you can actually go ahead and put your

closed end of the wrench on top of the nut and spin the shock to remove it.

Once you get your nut off you're gonna go ahead and grab the bushing and washer from

the top of the shock tower and pull your shock away from the vehicle.

Now that our old shock is out of the way we're gonna go ahead and install our new shock.

Now, to do this you're just gonna do it in the reverse order you took your factory shock

or aftermarket off.

Once you have everything on you're gonna go ahead and tighten it down using a 14-millimeter

wrench.

Once you have your top tightened up and torqued you're gonna move on to the bottom.

Now, the first thing you're gonna wanna do is put your metal sleeve through the eyelet.

Once you have your metal sleeve in your eyelet you're gonna go ahead and raise your axle

up until the eyelet meets the bracket.

Now that we have our eyelet lined up with our bracket we're gonna go ahead and put the

factory bolt we removed earlier back through the hole.

You're gonna be doing this from the back side out.

Now that you have your bolt all the way through the bottom of your shock you're gonna go ahead

and put the nut on and tighten it down.

And with everything tightened up, that wraps up our review and install.

Now, all you gotta remember is to put your tire on, torque your lug nuts and you're good

to go.

Couching on Sewing Machine - Duration: 3:57.

In this video I'm going to show you how to do coaching on your sewing machine

every single Wednesday I show you how to use your sewing machine and simple

sewing tips and tricks so as you can see I've hooped this fabric up and it's just

so I can move it about really easily I've also drawn a template of a heart

onto my fabric just so I can guide my thread around really easily I also have

this twine that I'm going to be using I did use some embroidery floss but I

found it to be a little bit too thin so you want something like a yarn to do the

couching with. So the couching setting is setting number 44 and it's foot J and

these are the factory settings if you need to make it wider or skinnier then

you can do so with your settings and we'll leave them exactly how they are.

So I'm just going to set myself up here with the end of this twine I was going

to get it under my presser foot I'm going to drop it down and I'm going to

leave it in the needle down position I'm basically just going to follow the design

of my heart and I'm just going to start stitching all the way around now you can

go as fast or as slow as you want. Around these tight curves it gets a little bit

more tricky

I'm going to turn around I'm going to go all the way down here you would obviously

take a bit more time doing this but I'm just going really quick for this

demonstration so just going to follow all the way along here with my pencil line

for the outline of this part. Have I got your brain thinking about all the things

that you could do with this? You could put this on the card. Sorry my fingers went

were in the way there we'll keep going all the way around

Obviously it just gets a bit more trickier as you're going around these tighter

corners. Move this out of the way, and turn this around. They do actually come

with couching feet so you can get that from your sewing machine supplier

because I have seen them. Come all the way around here I'm just gonna finish

this heart off here

come over a little bit and I'm just going to reinforce that stitch in. Like seriously

how cute is this and it took me no time at all, you could put this on paper you

could make like little tags for birthday presents or Christmas presents

like it's endless. How quick and easy and simple was this to make! Let me know

in the comments down below if this project has inspired you to do a project and let me

know what you're going to put it on and don't forget to subscribe to my channel

so you don't miss seeing me next week thank you so much for watching bye

10 Tips for Architectural Renderings in Photoshop - Duration: 12:37.

What's happening ladies and gentlemen,

this is Minh from Architecture Inspirations.

Today I'm going to show you 10 tips

for creating Architectural Renderings in Photoshop.

Let's get started.

1. Use Layer Masks

So what is Layer Mask?

It is a non-destructive way

to control the transparency of your image.

That means that you can hide parts of the image

without truly deleting it,

so you can recover it any time you like.

For example, here I have an image,

but I don't really like the background.

So I can go down and click here to add a layer mask.

Now, with the mask selected,

I can press B to use the Brush tool,

and paint black on the part that I want to hide.

If I press X,

then the foreground and blackground color will switch,

and now I can paint white

on the part that I want to make visible.

There we go.

You can see that this area is now transparent.

So I can import a new background

and place it under the original image like this so.

Now I can press V to use the move tool

to position my image,

or press Control+T to transform it however I want.

The cool thing about Layer Mask

is that you can always go back and adjust it

by painting black or white on the mask.

When using the brush tool,

you can Hold Alt and drag the right mouse button

up and down to change the hardness,

and drag left and right to change the size

A faster workflow is that

you can make a selection before adding the layer mask.

For example, if I want to replace the sky,

first I can select it using the quick selection tool

Now click on this button to add a layer mask.

As you can see,

it actually remove everything else except the sky,

and that's not what I want.

So with the layer mask selected,

I can press Ctrl+I to invert the layer mask.

and now the sky is invisible

so I can add a new sky like so.

Note that you can Shift and Left Click

to disable and enable the layer mask

to see the before and after.

Ultimately, Layer Mask is perhaps the most fundamental

and powerful tool in Photoshop.

Using layer mask will give you

a lot of control over your image

2. Adding Grass

If you don't want to render 3D grass,

then you can always add it in Photoshop.

Here I have a base render image,

and I'm going to add a grass texture on top of it.

I'm going to turn this layer off for now,

then make a selection of the grass area

using the lasso tool.

Then I'm going to turn the other layer back on,

make sure that this layer is selected,

and then click here to add a layer mask.

Now I want to transform this image to make it fit better,

but you can see that the layer mask

will also move and transform with it,

and this doesn't look right.

So I'm going to click here

to unlink the layer mask from the image.

And now I can freely transform the image

without affecting the layer mask like so.

Then I can always link the two images again if needed.

That looks good so far, but it looks a little flat.

So I'm going to use the clonestamp tool,

right click and select the grass brush.

Then I'm going to hold down Alt

and left click on the part of the image

that I want to use as the sample.

Next, create a separate layer for the grass brush parts.

Now I can paint like this

to create grass blades along this edge.

3. Adding Cutouts

Adding cutouts such as people and trees

is a great way to make your render look more lively.

Just import PNGs of people and trees that you want,

and transform them to make them fit in with your scene.

Layer mask is also useful for creating your own cutout

from a normal image like this.

After adding a cutout, you need to add the shadows.

The easiest way to add a shadow

is to create a copy of that cutout.

I can do that by holding down Alt and left click

then drag it to duplicate,

and move it below the original image.

Then I'm going to press Ctrl+T to transform it

I can also right click and click here to distort the image

Now I can transform the image like so.

Remember to pay attention to

the direction of the light source in your render.

Next, I'm going to Rasterize this layer,

and then press Ctrl+U to bring up Hue and Saturation

Now turn the lightness slider down like so.

If that's too dark,

then you can decrease the opacity of the shadow here.

You can also blur it using the Gaussian Blur filter

Or even add a layer mask

to fade out the shadow like so.

Pretty cool huh?

4. Adding Textures

Adding textures is essential for creating a good render.

When adding materials,

it's a good a idea to use seamless textures

so you can make copies and tile the texture like so.

You can do it by using the move tool

and hold down Alt then drag to duplicate.

However, there's a faster way to do it.

First, open up your seamless texture in Photoshop.

Then go to Edit - Define Pattern, then press Okay.

Now in the other Photoshop file,

go down here and click this button,

then go up to Pattern

and choose the Pattern that you just created.

Here you can set the scale to whatever works best

As you can see, this is a lot faster

than copying the image again and again.

If you make a selection before creating the Pattern,

then it will automatically mask it for you.

However, notice that you cannot Transform the pattern.

So here's what you need to do.

First, create a duplicate of this layer.

Then delete the layer mask.

Now right click and convert it into a Smart Object

Then you can drag the layer mask

from the previous layer to the new one.

And now you can delete the extra layer

Now you can unlink the layer mask from the image,

and transform the image however you like.

5. Use Render Elements

Some rendering software has the ability

to produce render elements.

Render Elements

(also known as Render Channels or Render Passes)

are a way to separate the different parts of a rendering

such as diffuse, material ID, reflection, etc.

These are very powerful images that you can use

to composite your rendering in post production

softwares like Photoshop.

So before Rendering your image,

make sure that the render elements

will be exported as well.

For example, in Vray for Sketchup,

you can find them in the settings tab

click this arrow to see more options,

and expand the Render Elements rollout

and add whichever elements you want.

In Enscape for Sketchup,

you can find them in the settings window, on the Capture tab.

And check this box

to export the Material ID and Depth channels

And in Lumion, you can choose which elements

you want to export before rendering the image.

Regarding how to use the render elements,

I have already created a more in-depth video on that

so you can learn more about it there.

6. Adjustment Layers

Now that your image is almost done,

it's time to make some adjustments.

Instead of using adjustments on the menu bar,

you should use the adjustment layers

by clicking on this button down here.

These adjustment layers include Curves,

Levels,

Color Balance,

Brightness, etc.

These are great for refining the look of your image.

You can also apply the adjustment to a specific layer

or group of layers

by holding down Alt and left click to clip it.

Instead of using these adjustment layers,

you can also use Camera Raw Filter.

To do that, first, select the top visible layer

and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E

to flatten all the images to a new layer.

Then I'm going to right click

and convert it into a smart object.

Now I can go up here, and apply a camera raw filter.

Then I can make adjustments here.

Since this is a smart object,

the camera raw is converted into a smart filter,

this means that I can always go back

and edit it whenever I want.

7. Adding Effects

In the past, I've shown you multiple effects

to make your render look better.

Such as bloom effect, lens flares, etc.

If you want to learn how to do those effects,

then watch my Photoshop playlist

But in this video, I'm going to show you another effect

called the Bokeh effect.

First, go on google and find a Bokeh texture.

Then just download one that you like,

bring it into Photoshop,

Now we're going to change the blend mode to overlay.

If that's too much, then just reduce the opacity.

You can try other blend modes as well.

And you can also transform it

or use layer mask to remove parts of it if you like.

Pretty cool huh?

8. Use Plugins

So I've mentioned Nik Collection

multiple times in the previous videos,

but if you look it up, it's actually not free anymore.

If you want to find the free version,

then you have to download an older version,

specifically version 1.2.11.

I will leave the link in the description box below

so you can download it.

After you installed this, it should work perfectly fine.

Another plugin for is called On1 Effects.

It's actually not free

But if you follow this link you can get it for free.

I'm not sure when it will expire

so make sure to get it quick.

I haven't used with this plugin much

but it seems like there are lots of options

for adding styles to your image,

quite similar to Nik Collection.

So test it out and see what you can come up with.

9. Keep Your File Organized

If you work with Photoshop,

you will notice that the file will get messy really quickly,

so it's a good idea to keep your file organized

by naming and grouping your layers correctly.

Here is how I do it.

I group each section of the image by its category.

You can do that by selecting the layers in that category,

and press Ctrl G to group them.

Then you can rename it accordingly

From bottom to top, my categories are Background,

Render Files, which is where I place my base renders,

Ground Planes, for any texture or images on the ground,

Entourage, which contains my cutouts

such as people and trees.

Final Edits, this is where I use Adjustment layers

and Camera Raw filter.

Then Finally there's the effects group

which contains layers for lens flare,

bokeh effects, or styles that I use from plugins.

You can also right click each group and assign a color

so you can easily differentiate between the categories.

Remember that this method is the most useful

when you implement from the start.

The last and most important tip is Resources.

To create renders in Photoshop, you need resources

for backgrounds, textures, cutouts, etc.

For stock photos or backgrounds,

I usually go to Unsplash or Pexels.com

These websites are also royalty free

so you can use their images for any purpose.

For cutouts, here are some great websites

And for textures, you can check my video on that topic.

You can also check out our community website,

archinspirations.club

It's where I share tons of free resources

such as cutouts, textures,

but also HDRIs and 3D models.

And those are all the tips

for Architectural Renderings in Photoshop.

If my workflow was too fast for you,

or if you're still a beginner,

then I suggest you take a look at these courses on

Skillshare.com,

who is also the sponsor of today's video.

Skillshare is a learning community

with over 22,000 classes in design,

photography, and more.

The premium membership will get you unlimited access

for less than 10 dollars per month.

But as part of this sponsorship,

Skillshare has set up a 2-month trial

for the first 500 people who sign up,

so you can watch all of the courses completely for free.

If that's something you're interested in,

then go to this link here.

I will leave the link to the courses I mentioned earlier

If you're new to Photoshop, then watch this course

on the Fundamentals of Photoshop.

If you want to add some styles to your render,

then check out this course on Color Grading.

There's also a course on creating a Rendered floor plan.

That's all for today guys,

leave a like if you enjoyed the video

and comment below if you have any questions.

Stay inspired guys, and I will see you,

next time ;)

First Dislike

Lmao

If you're not living under a rock

Then you will know that this happened, a while ago.

RIP headphone users..

BASS BOOSTED MUSIC

Even more BASS BOOSTED STUFF

And... yeah..

We finally reached 20,000 Subscribers.

And what am I doing about it?

I don't know, you tell me.

I wanted to make a sunflower.. and...

This is what I made..

This is going to be a new type of video that I will be uploading on my channel

Except for Minecraft.

TRIGGERED

And in these videos, I will be talking about my life.

And the good, bad and funny moments that happened to me.

BOOOOOO!!

I bet I will fall a sleep in 10 seconds because of boredom.

NOPE! you're wrong, GET OUT!

I'm not going to sit down on the couch like a Grandma and say...

Come on kids.. it's story time.

Once upon a time...

THE END!

CLAP!

It deserves a Noble prize.

NO

Instead I will be adding exciting, interesting and funny moments.

DABBING INTENSIFIES

And in today's video I will be talking about "How I started my youtube channel"

Before I made Kurdish videos.

I was making English videos.

Even I, don't know what I was saying.

And also, those videos....

*Deep Sigh*

I don't want to say this word.. or else AKAR will get mad.

What ever, none of your business AKAR!

CRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNGEEEE!

Whenever I look at them..

My brain cells just die..

That's how bad those videos are...

I might make a future video about it.. called:

"Watching my old English videos."

I deleted some of them because I was about to jump off the right window next to me because they were that bad.

ANYWAY!

Let's skip time

To the time when I decided to make Kurdish videos.

Because my old English videos.. weren't getting that many views.

Except for this video...

*Cough* *Cough*

That's a story for another video.

When I started making Kurdish videos, I was in grade 8.

A friend of mine called Mohammed, suggested me to make Kurdish videos.

And he gave me some ideas to make them into reality if possible.

Like this video for example.

"How to make a working Clash of Clans Mortar"

And it turned out pretty good!

Great success!

I don't know if he still watches my videos.. because they moved houses..

But Hama.. if you see this...

"Some random black guy crying for no reason."

Then you were..

REALLY ANNOYING AND I'M SO GLAD THAT YOU MOVED HOUSES!

"Please excuse us while ALAND is having a mental breakdown."

I meant to say.. uhhh...

Thanks!

For those ideas!

*Awkward Silence*

*Sigh*

When I first made my channel, I named it "ALAND YT"

And it went through a lot of different names.

If possible, then I will try to put my old banner and logo on screen.

Note: they weren't nice at all.

When I was making Kurdish videos, I was getting 3-4 views a day.

And that was really disappointing, and I thought this channel was going to be like my English channel.

And it won't achieve anything.

I spoke to a friend of mine {Iza} and I told her I was going to keep this up for 1 month.

And if I don't achieve anything, then.. I'll just quit again.

I remember one day when me and AKAR made a total of 21 accounts to subscribe to myself. xD

Stop it, get some help.

Please don't kill me for that.

It's not that big of a deal because youtube is going to delete them because they aren't active.

I don't know why I did that..

And I also remember when I had 121 subscribers, and when I was still making English videos.

I met someone by the name of "JustOli" and he was making some kind of video called "Shoutout Friday"

Short answer, it's like advertising for other people.

Every friday he was advertising 5-6 channels, and after 1 month, I was in there and I managed to get... 200+ Subs.

Which is not that bad...

After a while.. I quit that channel and when I came back to make Kurdish videos, I had 500+ subs to start off.

Sooo.. it was a good start, because youtube does not really care about new channels.

It was better than 0 Subscribers.

And after a while, I managed to get 1000 Subscribers!

Without cheating this time...

Heyyyy! that's pretty good!

And also.. that was the time when I got the "Trial-Mod" rank on Frostrealms, Take the L Tadas LOL. xD

Side note: It's the lowest staff rank which you can't really do that much with it..

Then I did a face reveal and a Q&A!

I was wearing a hat and a jacket... in the middle of a heat wave..

And I grew really fast! because, without acting like I'm the best.. please don't take this wrong.

The type of videos I was making back then were kind of *NEW* and I didn't see anybody else making them...

So I had a good opportunity!

After a few months.. I just cooled down and quit for 2 months...

But after that! I detonated the biggest nuclear bomb on my channel!

BOOM!

Not a real bomb! I'm not North Korea!

I mean that.. I made my own Let's Play!

And that became the most successful series on my channel!

We had a lot of good times.. I sometimes visit my channel and watch those old videos...

I remember a lot of good moments..

And that's one of the best things about youtube.. because your memories.. stay in here.

And now we're here! at a number I never expected to reach!

And the future of this channel.. is not written in the book yet, but only time.. will tell us, what's going to happen...

Hello everybody! this is me, the future ALAND!

The ALAND you heard before.. was from 4 days ago..

This video really took a long time to finish!

I've never worked this long on a single video..

The only video that I worked on for a while.. was this.

And that only took 1 day.

I've been working on this video for 4 days now.

And I really tried hard to make it look good, I hope you enjoyed it.

If it's not that big of a deal, then dropping a *LIKE* on this video would be appreciated!

For all the work that went into this video..

I also wanted to make it animated a little bit but my laptop has 4 GBs of RAM and that's really nothing..

That's like going to World War 2, and instead of having 100X ammo boxes...

I only have 4 bullets..

Ya'll have to queue up so I can kill 10 people with 1 bullet.

GIVE ME 25 KILLS SO I CAN DROP A NUKE ON 'EM!

"Underwater Nuke"

And... yeah.

Bring in the outro!

Thank you so much for watching this video! I know this might be something that you haven't seen before.

It's really hard to make these type of videos.. so you won't really see them that frequently on my channel.

Did you like it or not? and should I make another one? tell me in the comments!

I will also be putting 3 FanArts or FanBuilds in the end of every video like this, and I will be putting your names in the signs in a future video of "The Lab."

Once again, thanks for watching this video!

AND!

Don't kill yourselves....!

Art Printing 3 Ways with Carabelle and Gel Press Part 1 with Kate Crane - Duration: 4:56.

Hello. Kate Crane here again from England in the United Kingdom with another video

for the Gel Press from prints to project series. Now this time I've got some new toys to

play with because I've been designing at Carabelle Studio. And I've got some

texture plates here that I have designed. This one is called Jamboree. This one is

called polka-dots. This one is called scribble circles. I love playing with

these texture printing plates on the Gel Press. They get kind of unexpected things and

there are lots of different things you can do. So I'm going to show you three ways

with a texture printing plate and the Gel Press to create prints like this and

did one here in a different color way and then a slightly more kind of grungey

shabby chic style. You get plenty of close-ups of these in the video.

And then a really grungy style. In this video I've cut my prints up to make a tag.

The video is in two parts as usual. Thanks for watching! So I'm going to use this

one first of all. This one is scribble circles. If you aren't getting clean prints

it's probably to do with the amount of paint on your plate. So it's either too

much paint or too little paint. So have an experiment with that.

I find it helps as well if in between using this I just print it off on a

piece of card.

Okay. Something a bit different this time. I'm going to use this texture plate

which I called Jamboree. This is the combination of my

hand carved stamps and little bits of mark-making and doodling to come up with this design.

I'm going to start with some darker colors for this. So I'm using fuchsia and

eggplant. If you put something light underneath you can see there's quite a

bit of pattern on there. Now I'm going to let this dry for a little while.

And one more print. I'm going to use this time a circular printing plate. This is

polka dots and the scribble circles as well. I'm going to do a combination of

this on the top. It doesn't matter if it doesn't all line up perfectly because

it's going to be very grungey print anyway.

I'm going to add a layer of Alcohol Ink. This dries very, very quickly so I am

ready with my brayer.

Imagine how bad I was to my mom.

It was rough, buds. It was rough, it was real rough.

I think it's gonna be a girl. Yes, Gaines' prediction is that it's gonna be a girl.

Girl. You're thinking a girl! Everybody is saying a girl.

Boy or girl? I think it will be a boy. Yes! The first boy pick!

Boy! Boy, yes! Boy. Boy, yes! Boy, we've got a boy!

Three Money Hacks To Stop Overspending (How To Save More Money Each Month) - Duration: 8:21.

Meredith Rines: Are you ready for the three financial hacks that are gonna transform your

life?

Well, maybe not transform it magically, but at least help you from overspending.

Well, in this video I'm gonna share my three hacks to help you to finally stop overspending

so you can reach your goals.

Meredith Rines: Hi, everyone.

I'm Meredith Rines, a certified financial planner, a budget strategist, a busy mom,

and I love helping families break through that paycheck to paycheck mentality, start

paying down their debt so they can finally reach the goals they've always dreamed of.

In this video I'm sharing with you my top secret and my favorite financial hacks that

are gonna finally help you to stop overspending each and every month.

Welcome back to my channel.

If you're new here, I post weekly videos helping you with your money hacks, your budgeting

tips, and just time management and being a working mom.

Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss a new video each and every week.

Meredith Rines: I encourage you to stick around.

At the end of this video I'm gonna share with you how you can get your hands on my favorite

budget success checklist that's gonna help you reach your goals and start budgeting your

money the right way.

Let's jump in to today's video.

My first financial hack, don't fall for the trap.

Most stores offer sales, Labor Day Sale, Memorial Day Sale, Black Friday, Summer Savings Sale,

whatever you can stick a name on it.

All these retailers, all these stores, for the most part have really large marketing

departments that their sole job, their sole purpose is to drive traffic to the store,

to the website, to the social media pages so that you will buy their stuff.

They are really, really good at it.

Next time you need something or want something, make sure that you're getting a good deal.

Ask yourself, "Do you really need this item?"

Meredith Rines: I know one of my favorite tricks that they try to use is the, "Only

17 more dollars to qualify for free shipping."

Or, things like, "Only 18 more dollars to get the 10% off."

In reality, if you think about it, the free shipping was probably only gonna cost you

eight dollars, maybe a little less and you have to add 17 more.

Do you really need it?

If you think about the, "Only add so much more to qualify for the 10% the 50," well,

10% off 50 dollars is only five dollars.

Do you really need to spend the extra 20 dollars, the extra 15 dollars just to get five dollars

off?

More than likely not.

What I recommend is don't fall for these traps.

Be wise.

Do the math.

Get a calculator out.

Figure out how much it's gonna cost and how much you're actually gonna save if you hit

that target and see if it's actually worth it.

Meredith Rines: Hack two, learn to go without.

I know that this can be really hard in the day and age where all you have to do is pull

out your phone and you can order something on Amazon to have it delivered next day or

within two days.

It can be hard to tell ourselves no.

What we need to do is we need to learn to go without.

This is a huge lesson, especially when we are trying to reign in our spending and make

sure that we don't keep going over budget each and every month.

If you learn to go without then those things that you typically spend money on will no

longer be an issue.

Meredith Rines: For instance, we cut the cord to satellite and cable over a year ago.

We were already using a Prime membership from Amazon and you can do Amazon Prime TV.

You can get the Fire Stick for about 30 dollars.

They have great shows for me, for my husband, and even for our son.

Figure out ways, think outside the box.

If you do those Stitch Fixes and Fab Fit Fun boxes and all those other subscription boxes,

do you really need those products?

Are you actually fully using what comes each and every month.

If not, cancel them.

Get rid of them or maybe just stretch out the time to where you don't need it every

month.

Maybe you get it every three months or every six months, so that way you're not paying

for something every single month that you're not fully utilizing.

Meredith Rines: When I talk about learn to go without, of course, I'm not suggesting

that you go without water or electric or paying your rent.

I'm talking about things that you don't necessarily need to live on.

I don't need to go out to eat.

I enjoy it.

If you are struggling with overspending, make ... give yourself a budget on going out to

eat so that way you can stay within those guidelines that you can afford.

Meredith Rines: Financial hack number three, pause before you buy.

This is a huge one.

So many of us are not doing it.

When you go onto a website and you go to add things to your cart that you want or that

you need, close the browser out.

Get away from it.

Step away from your computer.

Go do something else.

Go check your emails.

Go take the dog for a walk.

Go do something else.

Meredith Rines: A lot of times if I'm gonna go to, let's say, Kohls.com and put some things

in my shopping cart, I will close the browser.

I will go to work that day.

I will take care of my kid and then later that night I will reopen my browser.

I will reevaluate what I've added into my cart to see if I actually still want it or

need it.

That way what that does is it makes me really question and evaluate my decision before I

hit the purchase and before I click checkout.

A lot of times I will add things in the heat of the moment, that ... what we talked about

in the financial hack one.

"Eight dollars until you get free shipping."

Or, "Spend 17 dollars to save 10% off 50."

I will fall for that trap because the marketing is really, really good, but when I close out,

walk away, come back with a fresh set of eyes, then I can really evaluate everything that's

in my cart.

I can make sure it's something that I really need and that it's something I can really

afford.

Meredith Rines: A lot of times, especially with the marketing that we talked about in

hack one, they will offer you credit cards and promotional discounts and things like

that to get you to sign up for their store card.

Though it sounds good, another credit card is probably not what you need.

Make sure that you are actually evaluating before you hit the checkout.

Meredith Rines: If you are shopping in store, what I like to do is I like to take everything

that I have that I'm thinking I'm gonna buy and I will go to the dressing room.

I will literally hang it up on those little hooks and I will try it on once more or I

will just sit there and I will stare at it.

I will imagine everything that I have, everything that I could wear it with, everything that

I need it for, and I will then decide if it's really worth that price.

Meredith Rines: Now, I'm talking a lot about clothes here, but this works for home goods

and toys as well.

If you've got ... if you're gonna try to go buy some new bedding or you're gonna try to

buy some new toys for your little one or something like that, make sure you want it.

Close that browser out, really look at it, and if you're in a store, set it down somewhere,

kind of spread it out as much as you can without being that obnoxious customer and really evaluate

whether or not you need it and you can afford it.

Of course we want it.

We want everything.

That's just the nature of it, but we really need to decide if we can afford it and if

we actually really need it.

Meredith Rines: That's the three financial hacks.

Like I told you, you can grab my nine step budget success checklist.

This checklist walks you through from creating what your ... is needed on your budget, what

those necessity items are like I talked about, the rent, the electric, the sewer, to what

items that you want like eating out, shopping, and seeing what you can actually afford after

everything else is taken care of.

That includes your goals and your savings and everything else.

Grab that nine step guide.

I will link it in the cards and down below.

It is a super helpful, just get started, set yourself up for success.

I even include a budget template in that so that way you don't have to think or create

something new or figure out from scratch how you're gonna make this new budget work for

you.

Grab that guide.

Meredith Rines: That's it.

That's the three financial hacks that can help you to stop overspending.

They're simple.

They're easy to follow.

A lot of times we forget about the basics that really help us to save the most amount

of money.

Let me know what's one financial hack that seems to always slip through the cracks when

it comes to you.

Like I mentioned, mine is always falling for those marketing tricks.

Let me know, what's one hack that you are really going to work on so that you don't

fall for it anymore?
